Decisions, Decisions

tam warner minton, college adventures blogHey there, I have just returned from a weekend trip to Massachusetts! I visited Boston University, Mount Holyoke College, and Wellesley College. I thought I would return to Dallas with my heart set on one of these schools, but I have encountered a slight problem – I pretty much fell in love with Mount Holyoke AND Wellesley. One thing I do know, I’ll end up where I am supposed to be!
I learned that it is really a fantastic idea to visit the schools and actually step foot on the campus – for me, simply looking at the websites did not particularly help, as everything kind of looked the same to me. I thought I was going to LOVE Boston University, and I took the tour and realized that I would be much better off in a small liberal arts college. Funny how that works. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am a MAJOR city girl who has grown up in some of the world’s most massive cities, but I just didn’t get that “feeling” from Boston University. It just wasn’t the right place for me.

On the other hand, from the minute Tam and I arrived in South Hadley to visit Mount Holyoke, I was in love. Everything about it, I just loved it. I couldn’t even put a finger on what exactly it was, it just “felt” right. My interview went so much better than I expected, and it was a really great experience.

As for Wellesley, yep, I’m in love again. Haha. The campus was ridiculously, incredibly, amazingly beautiful. Straight out of a movie. Going in to this process, I thought the LAST thing I would need was an all-women’s college. However, I have definitely been enlightened to the benefits of attending an all-women’s school. Besides, I was guaranteed that there are plenty of eligible guys around, considering that the Boston area has enough colleges to keep you counting all night. :)
I’m starting the application process soon and hoping, praying, that I can apply to Wellesley for early admissions, if it is where I am supposed to go.

Will keep ya posted!
