Outtakes

So it’s finally Sunday and I am shockingly ready for the weekend to be over. All week I wait for the weekend but by Sunday I’m pleading for the restful week. It’s odd, weekdays are my rest days and the weekends are the roughest. Don’t get me wrong! I LOVE weekends! I absolutely have myself a big ole’ blast everynight and I entertain myself in the days!

The problem is sleeping patterns. It doesn’t matter what you plan on when you leave at night, you’re going to come back no earlier than 2 and you’re going to wake up by ten-ish unless you are just plain passed out cold. Last night for example, I got home at 4. I think. I went out at 10 to a friend’s room to chill–he always has really amazing funk jazzy hip-hop music on and it attracts crowds to his room which then turns into a small gathering which is always good for meeting really cool people. Then as I was leaving, the door opened to another room down the hall and turns out there were a lot of girls in my sorority hanging out in there and my roommate had friends in there too so we had to stop in. We ended up staying longer than we thought and when they said, hey alright y’all we’re going to ATO now, let’s get walking! We went. We had a big group of us walking down the street to the frat house and we talked with girls who were friends of friends and guys who we’d met a few times before or guys who somehow we’d not met before. Then once we’d been there for a sufficient time, my sisters and I left and started walking. They were on their way to another frat but I decided as we were walking by the dorm I’d started out in, I was just going back there to find my roommate. So I went in and decided my friend who happened to be in town this weekend should come meet these people. So he walked over and we went upstairs and he fit in really well just as I expected. We all talked for ever and before I knew it, it was almost 4! So my friend walked home–he’s a guy and turns 21 in a week-ish so I didn’t worry about him walking alone– and my friend James walked me home (which is literally one block over/like 3 minutes away). I got in and crashed instantly. I’ve woken up several times this morning but I didn’t really get up until 11:30.

It’s exhausting how social you must be here. I wouldn’t trade it for a thing, cause I only stay out on weekends and I suppose I really could just not go out, or come back at midnight or whatever, but how’re you supposed to make new friends or mature your current ones if you never hang out and spend quality time together?! And during the days, you have school or homework or friends/family is visiting and you have to entertain them. This is why naps have become a crutial part of my life.

Also, just fyi. Texas rules. At football. And everything else. But especially football. LOOK OUT BEARS! Both the Longhorns and I are coming to you next week!!
