Facebook funds Doctoral Fellowships

facebook
Facebook is funding fellowships for five Doctoral students for the 2010-11 academic year.  The chosen fellows will receive tuition and fees, travel and a $30,000.00 stipend.  There are other benefits as well.  The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that doctoral students who are enrolled in American universities and doing research on internet economics, social computing, data mining or cloud computing (among other computer research projects) are eligible to apply. Facebook is unsure whether they will offer another such fellowship in 2011-2012, but they are open to the possibility.
