Still in Paradise! With complications.

Yes, still working remotely from Cozumel! I have a great view over my lap top…straight out to the Caribbean Sea. The news has been positive….students are receiving their admission offers and the financial aid offers are not far behind. My 2010 Seniors (except one) are finished and waiting. My juniors are researching….and so am I. But there have been some kinks in my trip.  My niece, Mande, is suffering from a blood clot.

I’ve been blogging as news comes in….and researching schools for Juniors at this point. I’m also planning college trips, and worrying about my niece, Mande, who is in neurocritical care at the University of Cincinnati’s Neuroscience Institute with a blood clot in her brain. After Tracy Fisher’s untimely passing in October, the words “blood clot” sent me into the outer reaches of the universe. The doctors at the Institute say it is the birth control pill that is most likely responsible. Though still in ICU Mandy has begun to move her right side a little and has finally (after 5 days) eaten, both are good signs. I have been sending messages to every female I know about the pill and taking an aspirin a day to avoid issues with clotting. Mandy is only 28 years old, and has an adorable two year old daughter who needs her mommy. Your positive thoughts, good wishes, and prayers are appreciated.
