Remembering Tracy Fisher with TRACE PLACE

Tracy Fisher was a former student of mine, and a blogger for College Adventures. The day before her 19th birthday Tracy suddenly passed away while at college. Tracy has gone from us, but her happy and joyous spirit remains. Tracy’s parents, Mark and Laurel, are heading an effort to name a portion of the Jewish Community Center’s new Natural Outdoor Playground after Tracy, and I encourage you to support them in rememberance of Tracy.

Laurel writes: “As a parent you have many dreams for your children. You want them to be good people who make a difference in the world. You want them to go off to college and be passionate in their pursuit of their future. You want them to be happy. Well, on those three accounts we were very lucky. Tracy sparkled in the world and we are so blessed to have been her parents.

One of our biggest fears is that Tracy will somehow be forgotten. But now an opportunity has come along to make a lasting impact and influence the lives of our children today and in the future.

Please learn about the exciting new playground at the JCC and honor Tracy’s memory by naming the Labyrinth after her. The Labyrinth is a fitting symbol as it combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path that represents a journey to our own center and back again out in to the world. Children most often run in and out in a playful manner and its joy can become contagious. This is a place that seems to embody Tracy’s playful spirit.”
