So, I’ve been very bad about blogging this year, but part of it is that things have been going a lot better socially. I actually decided to rush a sorority this year and rush is going really well! At Trinity, the sororities are all local so, they don’t have any of those crazy rules that some of the national ones do and the rush process is 4 months long so, you are really able to feel that you belong to a certain one instead of just going on a whim after a week. It’s been SO much fun and I’ve gotten to meet a lot of people that I wouldn’t normally meet inside my music department bubble. Bid day is in February so, I’ll update about all of that then!

Binge drinking, particularly on college campuses, is a real problem. First, let us define “binge drinking”: it is defined as having 5 or more drinks in a row, in other words, drinking a large quantity of alcohol quickly for the purpose of getting drunk. A social drinker will have a few drinks throughout the evening, but the goal isn’t to get “dead drunk”. Yes, I am aware that drinking and college go together like peanut and bread. I am not talking about social drinking, though, I am talking about binge drinking.
