At the moment I’m in Chicago. Well, Evanston, but that’s close enough really. It’s far too cold for my desert blood, but an adventure is an adventure. While I was abroad in Australia, I met another study abroad student who’s from Chicago. Well, Skokie, but that’s close enough really.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent trip to Chicago. One of the perks of being a college consultant is traveling to college campuses and talking with students. DePaul University is a very cool campus! Lincoln Park is a tree lined, red bricked section of Chicago with the L (elevated train, their subway system) clattering about, trendy restaurants, clubs, coffee shops, brownstones and a whole bunch of students running around, even on a Sunday!

I had a wonderful tour by LFC tour guide Laura, and my student (and close family friend) Matille. The tour included meeting many students…many happy students! It was wonderful to meet so many engaged, bright, and involved students. Finals are upon them, and they are studying hard, but they still took the time to greet me and chat.
