How important is it to have Community Service on one’s college resume? Perhaps not as important as actually performing Community Service! Parents have a great deal of influence in this area. If they perform service, it is likely the child will value service. There are so many charities and non-profits it is not difficult to find places to serve. You can make it a family event, or a tradition!

Are you aware that Congress must vote each year to approve Pell Grants? The Pell Grant is a federal funding award to lower income students going to college. The Pell program was started in the 1970s by Senator Claiborne D. Pell of RI (D). President Obama has requested for the second time that the Pell Grant become an entitlement which would keep pace with our economy by always staying 1% over the rate of inflation.
