Bullying and being Gay

A young man walks into the lunchroom and grabs his lunch and makes his way to his table of friends in the cafeteria, but before he gets to sit down a group of guys from a table near by start yelling names at this young man, things like “look it’s the gay!” in front everyone in the lunchroom. As the young man sits down at the table his face is flushed bright red and he thinks everybody is staring at him laughing at his embarrassment. That young man was me in high school.

Roomies

I’m getting to know my roommates a lot better and I really couldn’t be happier with them. Though they have some weird habits like one going to bed by 10:30 every night and wanting to turn the light off right then and the other not going to bed until at least 2, overall, we get along so great and I feel like we mesh really well with our habits.

My Eye

A little more than a week before leaving Australia, I got hit with a water balloon by mistake. I was not the intended target, nor was I participating in this battle of water filled rubber projectiles. Just an innocent bystander who took a water balloon to the eye

At the moment I’m in Chicago. Well, Evanston, but that’s close enough really. It’s far too cold for my desert blood, but an adventure is an adventure. While I was abroad in Australia, I met another study abroad student who’s from Chicago. Well, Skokie, but that’s close enough really.

DONE! Now Semester at Sea!

Only 26 days until I am on my 108 day adventure. Some of my other trips include The Art of Living in China, where I will stay in a village and learn different types of yoga; River to Ocean Kayaking in Dominica, its just what it sounds like, I start in a river and kayak to an ocean; A three day Safari trip out side of Cape Town!
